How does the free month work?
Pick the monthly plan and the first 30 days are free - the whole app, nothing held back. We ask for a card so it rolls into the subscription without you having to think about it, and we don't charge it until the month is up. Cancel before then and you pay nothing at all.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Plan & billing → Manage or cancel subscription. That opens Stripe, where cancelling takes one click. You keep access until the end of the period you've already got (the end of the free month, if you're still in it), then the app locks - your budget data stays on your device, and resubscribing brings you straight back to it.
Do I get a free month every time?
The free month is once per account. If you trial, cancel and come back later, you're welcome any time - it just starts as a paid subscription rather than another free month.
Is it really one payment, forever?
If you pick lifetime, yes. Pay €49 once and use JuicyMoney for life, updates included. No subscription, which is the whole point.
What's the difference between monthly and lifetime?
Same app, same features. Monthly starts with a free month, then €7.99 a month, cancel whenever. Lifetime is €49 once and you're done. Either way it costs less than YNAB's ~€110 a year.
What if I buy lifetime while subscribed monthly?
We cancel the subscription for you as soon as the lifetime purchase goes through, so you're never paying twice, and your access carries on uninterrupted.
Is my payment secure?
Checkout runs on Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Your data & privacy
Where is my financial data stored?
It lives on your device first, so the app works offline, and syncs to your own private space in the cloud tied to your account.
Does my budget sync across devices?
Yes. Everything is tied to your account, so log in on your phone or laptop and your accounts, categories, and transactions are already there. Nothing to export or move by hand.
What happens to my data if I clear my browser?
Clearing site data wipes the local copy on that device, but your budget is safe in your account. Log back in and it syncs down again.
Coming from YNAB
Can I leave YNAB without losing my history?
Yes. Export your budget from YNAB, upload the two CSVs, and your accounts, categories, transactions, transfers, and monthly assignments all come across in one go.
What if I'd rather start clean?
Use Fresh Start and begin from an empty budget. You can always import later.
Do I need to learn a new method?
No. It's the same envelope method you know: give every euro a job month by month. The getting-started guide walks you through it.
Using JuicyMoney day to day
How do credit cards work?
Spend on the card and JuicyMoney moves that money into your card's payment category automatically. When the statement lands, the cash is already set aside.
Can I change my plan after I've set it up?
Any time. Rename categories, add new ones, and reassign money whenever your life changes. Guessing is fine - you'll adjust as you go.
What do the reports tell me?
Where the money went: spending by category group, your top categories, and a 12-month trend, readable on any screen.
Mobile & automation
Does it work on my phone?
It's built mobile-first: bottom navigation, fast entry, and it works well on a small screen.
How does the iOS Shortcuts automation work?
Every field on the add-transaction page can be pre-filled from a URL. Pay with Apple Pay, let a Shortcut open the page with the amount and payee filled in, and hit save. Two seconds.
